One Day Until Turkey Day!

One day left until Turkey Day gets here!

Volleyball Banquet

My daughter had her volleyball banquet last night. Usually these can get very long and boring, but knowing all these young ladies and their parents makes it so easy to be there and listen to their coaches talk about their seasons and how mature and responsible these young athletes are.

This is my daughter with her varsity coach. She is a wonderful lady and not only teaches the girls about volleyball, but teaches them to believe in themselves not only in sports but in life as well--couldn't ask for a better role model!
This is my daughter and my daughter-in-law. Love, love, love these two. They are beautiful inside and out!

Our varsity team, with managers and coach. What a great season ladies!

Terra and her BFF, Meghan.

Friends and teammates.

Some photos from the banquet.

Mrs. T giving her speech before she announces the girls and giving out their awards.

Food line. There was so much food there and all so very good!

The varsity was second in the district, but I know they will work harder and go farther next year. And if they don't, we don't care--we love our Copper King ladies!

My Handmade Earrings

One of my hobbies I have is making jewelry. I started by making a necklace, earrings and bracelet for a social gathering I was attending. I couldn't find what I liked in the stores so my sister suggested I make my own.
I love going to the bead store and looking at all the beads! They are all so beautiful. I love all sorts: glass, plastic and semi precious. The first two here I call the "fun"ones. I made the green pair for St. Patrick's Day and the red are for Valentine's Day. I have given many of these away as gifts to teachers and coaches.

I made these two pair for the green lovers.

I thought these beads were super cute for making a casual looking pair of earrings.

I love turquoise with any color. I have made the turquoise beads with a larger red bead and have sold a lot. Wish I had a pair to show you.

Ahhhhh, red is my favorite color!

I don't have very many blue colored earrings. I try to have some on hand for pairing with jeans/casual attire.

I love this pair of earrings and couldn't part with them. There are so many I make and keep.

Hope you enjoyed checking out my earrings. If you are interested in purchasing a pair or would like something made just let me know

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Work Week

It's a three day work week this week! Yay---I'm doing my happy dance!

I love this holiday. I love it more than Christmas!

I love getting together with family and friends and enjoying conversation and of course the food! Oh my gosh--my mom's cooking is the best. Hopefully my sister will bring a wonderful cheesecake and my day will be complete!

We will only be missing my oldest son Michael and his wife Brooke who live in St. Louis, MO. These two kids are super fun to be around--never a dull moment with Michael and his dogs.

Now I just need to get through these three days of work!

Thanks for stopping by.

High School Skating Competition

This past weekend our high school skating team competed at the Turkey Trot Competition in Houghton. What a fantastic job our skaters did!! So very proud of this team!

On ice picture of the girls.

We have two levels-Level B and Level C. Our Level B skaters placed 2nd in jumps, 1st in spins and 2nd in moves. The winners of the longest element, which was a sit spin, were Terra in 1st and Maddy in 2nd.

Our Level C skaters placed 1st in jumps, 2nd in spins and 2nd in moves. We had one winner in the longest element, which was a spiral, and that was one of the Darnell girls who placed 2nd.

The next part of this competition happens in Marquette in February of 2012.

Nice job ladies!!

Six Days Away

Only six days until Turkey Day!!! Plans are being made for the when, where and time.

Rolling Right Along

Life is rolling right along. I can't believe it is already past the middle of November!

I had to share this picture of my daughter and her boyfriend. It is my favorite picture of the two of them--they just both look so happy! Calumet must have won their football game that night.

I am so proud of my girl. She works hard in school and she gives her sports 110+%. Just recently she made 1st Team All Conference for volleyball and made the honor roll! Now she is busy with basketball and figure skating. We have an High School Figure Skating Competition this weekend.

This next picture is of me and hubby at my step-son's wedding. It was fun and everyone wished the night could have lasted longer. Not me----my feet were killing me by the end of the night. We then stayed a while longer to clean up so we didn't have a huge task ahead of us the next morning. My daughter with her boyfriend. These two are just the cutest couple.

Terra serving at one of her volleyball games. This picture made the paper! I call her twinkle toes when she serves:)

My hubby looks so relaxed here. It was taken on the front porch of his son's home the night before his wedding.

What can I say about this guy-----He's not perfect, but I love him very much!

I haven't had much time for craft projects, but I am working on a scrapbook as a gift for Chirstmas.

Of course, my daughter always keeps me busy. As a matter of fact, we spent some time together last night dying her hair. Turned out alright and we may do it again.

Thanks for stoppying by.
