First Day of School

My grandson started kindergarten this year! We are so proud of him! You would never know this little boy started out just weighing over 3lbs! Here he is standing by his locker.

Nathan and Hailey having breakfast on the first day.

In the hallway. They were so cute!

I tried to get a good picture of Nathan, but he was being silly and this is the best one I was able to get.

Nathan and Hailey by the tree and Dad's house.

I know Nathan will do good in school. He loves to learn and tells me that all the time.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Projects On My LIst

The following pictures are some projects I would like to attempt. I love paper crafting!
The first one is for my dog-lover friends pets. I think I'll put some pet treats in for them for Halloween or Christmas. I just need to put a witch's hat or santa hat on this cute little triangle box. This next card is so cute. I just ordered this stamp set and want t give this card a try. I don't know of anyone with an owwie, so I'll just have to keep it handy if the situation occurs. I just love the way the person made the band-aid!

Santa box.....I could use this for anything-treats, money, etc. Soooo cute!

I don't usually do a lot of crafts for Thanksgiving but this turkey just got to me. I'll have to find someone special to send this to.

This last card is a just because.....because I love the layering on the card...it all just fits.

Happy crafting!

How I've Missed You!

Oh how I've missed getting my pictures up on this blog and keeping it current, but alas I have not had the time. I know, I know....familiar excuse. Some day I hope to blog every day! That would be around retirement....which is a long way off!

One thing I have been busy doing is blog surfing! I really enjoy checking out what other people are crafting and cooking/baking.

I would love to make this chandalier! It's so me. I love canning jars and never thought to use them as a light.

Next are the little banana bites I'd like to make for my grandson's "treat" day. They look super easy and I think kids will love them!

I will do more blog surfing and share in the coming days.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Makin' S'Mores

Nathan loves to roast marshmellos for his Grandpa or anyone that wants one!
Here he is roasting up a 'mello. He's trying so hard not to burn it and get it nice and brown. He did a great job!

Terra got in on the competition to see who could make the best roasted marshmello.

Happy Camper!

Terra concentrating on her technique.

We definitely have fun while we camp. Most of the time, we eat better when we camp than at home!

Confirmation

In early July, our Church held Confirmation. Our daughter and two nieces were confirmed. Rachel and Elyssa with the Bishop.

Terra with our Bishop.

This is the whole class. Our church is very small...love it!

The girls together.

The Bishop laying hands on Terra.

We had a brunch after church and some cake. Each person received a very nice prayer book.

I'm glad my Mom and Dad were able to make it to see Terra be confirmed.

Summer Fun

I have been slacking off on keeping up with this blog! We have had a stressful couple of months and have received good news but I can not share as it is very personal.
My apologies to you if you have visited and have not seen anything new. I'll change that now!
Our grandson is old enough now to sit in the kayak in his own seat and he wants to be able to paddle. My hubby took him out to see if he could and of course....he's a natural. He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES the water and anything to do with it.

These pictures were taken on Lake Fanny Hoe (our favorite place). We do a lot of camping at the state campground there and hope to one day own a small piece of land. Big enough to put just a little camp on it or big enough to park the camper.

We are lucky to be able to take our grandson so often with us. Our daughter is getting older and prefers not to go camping with us, opting to stay in town to stay connected with friends. We do still make her come with us and she does enjoy it once she gets there and realizes it is fun--even without friends and her phone!

Staring Out The Window At Work

I have been watching, out my front window at work, a couple birds buildng a nest. They were bringing in the normal stuff for bird nest building, sticks, leaves, etc.

Over the weeks I kept busy at work and forgot about them until this week when I noticed they were bringing something different---worms!I knew the eggs had hatched and mom and dad were feeding their babies.

I went out to see if I could find the nest and I did, so I had to take a picture!

As I am typing, the mommy bird is on a branch in the tree waiting for the perfect time to swoop down and give her babies that luscious worm she has in her beak.

Glad I don't have to eat worms!!

First Fire of the Summer!

On Saturday, we decided that we would build a fire to burn up some of the brush we had accumulated. Our grandson thought we should have the fire and sleep out in the camper.

Grandpa and Nathan starting the fire.

Nathan is very serious when it comes to having a fire in the pit.

Blowing out the flame.

This is our fire! We did burn a ton of brush! Nathan just kept putting it on the fire!

When it was time to get ready for bed, he decided to sleep in the house and not in the camper. He wanted to snuggle with Grandpa! What a cutie!
