2012 Calumet Skating Show

****WARING**** HIGH VOLUME PICTURE POST :)
My daughter had her skating show this past Saturday and what a show it was! The costumes and music were the best I've seen!
Our ice show theme was: Skating Through The Seasons
My daughter had a solo and skated to Bryan Adams' Summer of '69. She did a fantastic job! We are so proud of the work she puts into her skating.Beautiful backward spiral.
This program was a sports medley. Great music and the girls were awesome!
My baseball girl. Funny how she dresssed up for baseball but has never played it.
Y'all ready for this?!
T-bow pose.
Zoe and Terra. This is Zoe's last year with the club.
Terra and her beautiful sister-in-law, Joni. What a beautiful lady inside and out. Great role model for Terra.
Me, Terra and my sister. Love these girls!
My niece, Joni and Terra
Cousins--Rachel and Terra
Terra with one of her besties, Meghan and Meg's sister Gabby.
Megs and Terra.
Terra, Grandma Erkkila and Rachel.
Martha and Terra.
My niece and sister-in-law. Aren't they gorgeous!
Zoe, Katherine, Terra, Julia and Dallas--friends. So glad she has such a great group of friends!
With Marth.
Her very best best friend, Katherine. These two have been great friends since kindergarten and I don't see that changing ever! Love this girl!
It was a pleasure watching all the skaters do their best and they sure put on a fantastic show! The parents that volunteered did an excellent job setting up the arena.
Being a board member you sometimes get people that find the negative and believe it or not, I did not hear one negative word at all!!
I hope next year will be just as good. It will be Terra's last year with the club-happy but sad times.
Thanks for stopping by!

Watching Hockey

Last night was the first night our daughter got to watch her Dad play hockey. She was so excited to see him. I took a picture of them and they both looked so happy!
It's been many years since I have seen my hubby out on the ice and it was so good to see him play the game he loves so much!
Our daughter's boyfriend came and watched too. He plays hockey for our high school team and does very well!
Behind the net after a shot.
Waiting for the puck.
He was awesome! Have to say he still has the moves (like Jagger)!
My hubby has been playing hockey for a couple months with some other guys on a rental league. He was asked by one of these gentlemen to play in the Old Timers Tournament as they were short people. Of course he agreed!
They have different divisions per your age--thank goodness. Wouldn't want my hubs to hurt any of those young guys!:) He is in the "Masters" division.
I was very impressed with the level of play. The speed wasn't what it used to be, but the quality is till there.
I am going on my lunch hour today to watch another of his games and then again tomorrow to watch his last game (unless they make the playoffs-then we'll watch again on Sunday!).
Thanks for stopping by and if your a local, go and catch some great hockey games this weekend!

High School Figure Skating Competition

This past weekend we traveled to Marquette for a High School Figure Skating Competition.
Our girls did a great job. I think we could have done even better if we had more practices. I'll work on that for next year. Waiting for their turn.

Spin with foot catch.

These are some of our B team girls with their coach.

Terra doing her spiral.

Our team--missing three girls.

This is Terra doing the longest element which was a spiral. She took second in this.

Another team photo.

Team photo with medals and thophies.

They took a first in or district. Great job girls!

Sunday Drive

My hubby and I decided to go for a ride this past Sunday. I like to check out the ice formations and hopefully spot an eagle.

There wasn't much ice to speak of. We've had a very mild winter here (not complaining at all!).

We spotted some coyote tracks. Hubs will be hunting these guys when the predator hunt comes up. He's scouting this area to see how much animal traffic there is.

We saw an Indian fishing boat and I couldn't believe the number of seagulls that trailed behind this boat!

We did get lucky enough to see an eagle. Hubby spotted him and stopped so I could take a picture.

He noticed us and then decided he had enough of the paparazzi! Off he flew. Beautiful birds!

We did a bit of snowshoeing near Lac La Belle and then headed home. I really enjoy getting out on the "shoes" and going off-trail.

Thanks for checking out my blog. Don't be shy--leave a comment!

My Favorite Silly Kids

Ahhh, my two favorite people! They sure do love to be silly together. They love making silly faces at me when I am trying to take their pictures.

Maybe one of these days they'll let me take a more serious photo. One can only hope.

Thanks for stopping by!
