'Tis The Season

No, not Christmas.....Deer Season! It's the time of year all men can't wait for!
We took our grandson with us for a ride to the hubby's deer blind. As we were driving on the dirt road, we came upon a tree that had fallen across it.
Here Nathan is on the tree watching/supervising the cutting and clean up of said tree. Here is hubby cutting up tree. My job was to pick up logs and stack them in the truck. Mission accomplished.

Here is our grandson hanging out the window. He had to make sure G-pa didn't run over anything.

Along the way we ran across these....wolf tracks. Hope that wolf doesn't decide to follow hubby.

We made it to the deer blind and Nathan helped G-pa load the shell into his 410.

Before the shell was loaded, he had to kiss it for good luck so G-pa didn't miss the target.

The deer blind. Home away from home come November 15th. Nathan helped to paint it.

Trying to shoot the water bottle.
Walking in the woods to pick a new spot for the deer blind. They were sharing shoestring potato sticks. They both love them.

Back in the truck. He's playing opposum..he wasn't really sleeping.

So, for two weeks in November nothing else will matter except for hunting for a big buck!

At least I'll get a mini vacation. I won't have to cook or make lunches at 5:30am for two weeks!!

My Dad

Dads are the quiet ones in the bunch. They don't worry about what they get for birthdays or Christmas (mine asks for socks!...No-I'm not getting you socks!). They don't make a big deal if you forget or get something totally silly and they don't hold it against you.

I can always count on this man when I am in a pinch. He has picked up my kids at the drop of a hat when they needed him. He has driven to and from my house countless times.

This is my Dad on his birthday this past year. The Hut offers free eats on your b-day, so we got together and went. This is Dad in the kitchen at home. He loves having us and our kids over (I think). He is a man with a serious sweet tooth and I used to love making him treats. I'll have to start that again for him. Maybe...I'll ask Mom.

Here he is at one of Nathan's horse show competitions in Escanaba. He travels all over to see his grandkids and great grandkids in their activities.

Of course, Mom is never far behind....more on her later.

There is so much I want to say about my Dad-He is a kind, caring wonderful man and I appreciate all he has done for me and my kids!

Love ya Dad....thanks for being there for all of us! I hope you know how much you mean to me!

First Day of School

My grandson started kindergarten this year! We are so proud of him! You would never know this little boy started out just weighing over 3lbs! Here he is standing by his locker.

Nathan and Hailey having breakfast on the first day.

In the hallway. They were so cute!

I tried to get a good picture of Nathan, but he was being silly and this is the best one I was able to get.

Nathan and Hailey by the tree and Dad's house.

I know Nathan will do good in school. He loves to learn and tells me that all the time.

Thanks for checking out my blog!

Projects On My LIst

The following pictures are some projects I would like to attempt. I love paper crafting!
The first one is for my dog-lover friends pets. I think I'll put some pet treats in for them for Halloween or Christmas. I just need to put a witch's hat or santa hat on this cute little triangle box. This next card is so cute. I just ordered this stamp set and want t give this card a try. I don't know of anyone with an owwie, so I'll just have to keep it handy if the situation occurs. I just love the way the person made the band-aid!

Santa box.....I could use this for anything-treats, money, etc. Soooo cute!

I don't usually do a lot of crafts for Thanksgiving but this turkey just got to me. I'll have to find someone special to send this to.

This last card is a just because.....because I love the layering on the card...it all just fits.

Happy crafting!

How I've Missed You!

Oh how I've missed getting my pictures up on this blog and keeping it current, but alas I have not had the time. I know, I know....familiar excuse. Some day I hope to blog every day! That would be around retirement....which is a long way off!

One thing I have been busy doing is blog surfing! I really enjoy checking out what other people are crafting and cooking/baking.

I would love to make this chandalier! It's so me. I love canning jars and never thought to use them as a light.

Next are the little banana bites I'd like to make for my grandson's "treat" day. They look super easy and I think kids will love them!

I will do more blog surfing and share in the coming days.

Thanks for checking out my blog!
