I saw this image and had to share it! It is so funny! Thankfully I am not in any trouble, nor do I forsee getting into any, but this sure is a cute picture. Isn't the saying the truth?!

Try Again!
My grandson's first attempt at skating did not go well. He didn't want to skate at all and cried when the skates went on. I left work early to go and watch and try to get some pictures, but when I got there he was in a full sobbing mode. I tried to talk him into trying to skate but he was having nothing to do with it. So, I asked him if he would like to watch and see what the kids were doing out there. He was up for that and we stayed and watched for about 15 minutes.
Today we are going to try it again. We've been talking to him about it all week and he seems to want to try. I'm hoping that my Mom and Dad will get pictures because I can't leave work today. If they are successful in getting him on the ice and getting a picture or two, I will definitely share.

And So The Winter Season Begins
New Craft Project
Terra's First Varsity Basketball Game
Terra played in her first vasity basketball game last night. She was nervous but played very well. All the girls did really great but the other team was faster and had the height advantage.
This is how Nathan watched the first quarter. He actually fell asleep in the truck on the way to the game. He woke later and was hungry so we got him a hot dog and a gatorade. After that was gone he was ready for some m&m's.
Nathan does okay at the games but gets a little bored because he really doesn't get the game yet, but he'll be going to many more so hopefully will start understanding what his Auntie is doing out there.

High School Figure Skating Team
This is our High School Figure Skating Team. We have two levels where we compete: Team B and Team C. Team B does some higher elements...that's the only difference. There are 4 girls on Team B and 5 girls on Team C.
Turkey was our first competition on November 20, 2010. Team B was second in jumps and second in spins and 6th in moves. Team C was third in moves.
Our next competition isn't until February 2011. Hopefully we can get more practices in and come away with more medals.
All the girls did great! They all seem to get along really well. Sure can't complain about any attitudes this year!!

ArtiCatz Volleyball Tournament
Our volleyball girls went to a tournament in Marquette this past weekend and did a great job. They came in second! This picture is their "silly" picture! The coach was such a good sport.
UPHA Banquet
A couple Saturdays ago, we went to our Grandson's horse banquet. It was the normal banquet stuff. Food, raffles and awards. The food was okay...it was a buffet. I usually love buffets because I can pick and choose and if there is something you really don't like then you just go on and choose something else.
This first picture is Nathan posing with his plaque. What a cutie!

This is Nathan showing me his award! He was really excited!
He was so good at the banquet. He sat when they were speaking and for this 4 year old boy that was an accomplishment. Not that he's a wild kid by any means but he's 4 and it's hard to hold their attention for long periods.

MIA Again!
Well, I have been MIA again! Sorry! I haven't really been that busy. It just seems like my every day normal stuff would be boring to share with you.
I have been getting to all my daughter's volleyball games. We have a game on Tuesday and another game on Thursday which is Parent's Night. I am such a proud Mom.
Tonight our figure skating season starts. I am a board member and we have been busy getting things together so we have a great year! It's just too bad some parents don't volunteer and realize that it helps their kids when their parents are involved. My daughter used to hate it but now she's really glad her Mom is around and helpful to her and her friends. Besides, if I don't like something I better not complain if I didn't help!
I'll be spending a little time with my grandson tonight before he has to leave. He is going on a big trip to Las Vegas with his other grandpa. They are going to watch the PBR Championships. Horse/bull riding. Sounds like fun. He says he doesn't want to go but once he's there he'll have a great time. Hopefully they'll let him call us a few times while he's there.
I hosted our card club last week. It is so much fun to get together with these ladies. I have met two new ladies and enjoy their company. I love meeting new people that share my love for paper crafting. Anyway, we made two cards. One was a Christmas card and one was a fall card with a little bookmark inside.
On Saturday I went to a birthday party/jam session with my sister. Both our hubbies were out of town so it seemed like a safe place to be. I really didn't expect to dance but her brother-in-law (the birthday boy) got me. Whew! I haven't polka-ed in ages! It was okay and he was very understanding when at first I was awkward. I lingered at the food table or hid behind my sister so no one else would ask me to dance!
So this week I will decorate for Halloween a bit. I have a craft project I want to at least get started. We'll see how far I get.

Fall Has Arrived!
Fall has arrived here in the U.P. and it hasn't been too bad.....YET. This morning I woke to a thunder and lightning storm. Love to watch the lightning and hear the thunder but the poor dog quivers at the sounds! It was so warm too! If it wasn't raining I would have enjoyed the light show on the deck.
I'm going to try and get to the pumpkin farm this weekend with my grandson so he can pick out his own pumpkin. Hopefully the weather will hold out for a bit longer so we are not searching in cold and rainy weather. We'll wait until it's closer to Halloween before we carve it.
The hubby and I took a ride on the Ranger on Sunday out to the Keweenaw. It was a beautiful day....not too cold. We hit some trails that we haven't been on together and got to see some spectacular views. Saw tons of birds...not the kind that are in season now. We only saw three partridges in the four hours we were out on the trails.
Not much else has been happening. I have been making all of Terra's volleyball games. The JV team is doing very well. She has a game tonight against L.L.
Enjoy the fall before winter comes. I think we are going to really get piled on this year.

Card Class
This is the card I made at card class last night. It's the reflection technique and it was pretty easy to make and looks good too. I will be using this technique.
I took some time off from going to this group and really missed it. I was lucky to get back in when one of the ladies left the group because of moving. Lucky me! There are some really talented ladies in this group!
I am looking forward to making a lot of nice cards and paper crafts. Who knows.....maybe one of you will be lucky enough to receive one from me.

Busy Days
So.......sorry for being MIA. I have been so very busy with just.....life and enjoying it! Some days are better than others but all in all it's been good.
My oldest son had some health issues so I tried to keep in touch with him and his fiance' to keep track of what was going on. Poor kid had his gallbladder removed and was still having troubles. Long story short--Come to find out when they transferred him to a different hospital off base, they did a certain procedure and found out two ducts were damaged and had to be repaired. Now he is getting better and stronger. Thank goodness!
We camped, played on the Ranger, took rides and got our daughter ready for her Sophomore year of high school. We planned a trip to Wausau but that never happened because our daughter was always busy with volleyball and you can not miss any practices so........to the internet we went! She won't have to go to school naked! LOL! She does a great job picking out her clothes. I just wish she would pick some dressier things, but oh well...at least she picks clothes that I approve of.
I have a figure skating meeting tonight so my projects at home will have to wait for another time. The weekend is coming up so I can take care of those later.
Tomorrow she has a volleyball game in Chassell. All three teams will be there. Freshmen start at 5, then JV, then Varsity. It should be fun to watch. I will take the camera to try and get some pictures.
Fall has arrived here and it's not too bad. I do like the cooler weather over the hot. Sleeping comes so much easier when it's cooler.

Volleyball
So, have you ever watched volleyball....high school volleyball. Last year was my first year watching and I thought it was going to be so boring. Surprised myself. I love watching this sport. My daughter is on the JV team and they had a tournament and came in first place! The picture below is of the team with their plaque. GO BLUE! This is Terra getting ready to serve. I just love how she serves....gotta watch, can't explain it.

The Copperman Triathalon
The 19th annual Copperman Triathalon took place on August 7th in the Harbor. It's a 1/2 mile swim, a 20 mile bike ride and a 5 mile run.
My brother-in-law was a competitor and we also had some friends competing as well. This is Mike before the race...wetsuit on and ready to roll.

Camping Photos
The following pictures are from when we went camping to the Harbor. Terra and Katherine decided to go kayaking. Here they are with their life jackets on waiting for the kayak to be taken off the truck.
